About The Show

Denim & Diamonds Concert Series – Presented by 360 Degrees

The Denim & Diamonds Concert Series, presented by 360 Degrees, is the premier live showcase celebrating the electrifying sounds of Southern Soul and Zydeco, bringing together the biggest legends, today’s top stars, and fast-rising newcomers. This groundbreaking concert series has become the most influential platform for Southern Soul’s elite, honoring the trailblazers who have defined the genre while creating a stage for the next generation of stars. Southern Soul, which emerged in the Southern United States in the 1960s, blends blues, country, R&B, and gospel into a sound that is deeply emotional and undeniably powerful. Known for its honesty, passion, and gospel-infused intensity, Southern Soul is also referred to as country soul, deep soul, downhome soul, and hard soul. Some argue that Southern Soul is an evolution of blues, updating its sound while preserving its signature rhythms and storytelling tradition. No matter how it’s described, 360 Degrees is proud to present it live in concert like no other.

Since its inception, the Denim & Diamonds Concert Series has set the premiere standard for premier Southern Soul performances, exclusively showcasing the legends who paved the way, the stars who define the sound today, and the rising artists shaping its future. Unlike the Southern Soul Rising Stars Concert Series, which focuses primarily on emerging talent, Denim & Diamonds creates a bridge between generations—pairing legendary artists with newer voices to honor the past while elevating the future. This unique format not only pays tribute to Southern Soul’s greats but also provides fast-rising up-and-comers with an unparalleled platform to perform on the same stage as the icons who inspired them. As the demand for this music continues to grow, the series has expanded beyond its Southern roots, bringing these powerhouse performances to new audiences in other states—including an exciting upcoming stop in Virginia. While many have attempted to imitate this groundbreaking event, make no mistake—this is the originator, the one that set the bar! From legendary acts to rising stars, 360 Degrees continues to lead the way, curating must-see lineups that define the very best of Southern Soul and Zydeco. Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of the Denim & Diamonds Concert Series—where the music, the culture, and the legends shine while the future takes the stage!

Sir Charles Jones

Sir Charles Jones, born April 25, 1973, in Akron, Ohio, is a celebrated American blues and Southern Soul singer, known for his smooth, velvety vocals and deeply emotional performances. Though born in Ohio, he was raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where he developed his deep-rooted passion for music. A self-taught artist, Jones mastered writing, arranging, and producing his own music, blending influences from jazz, fusion, gospel, and blues to create a signature sound that is both timeless and contemporary. His music resonates with fans across multiple genres, effortlessly bridging the gap between traditional soul and modern R&B-infused Southern Soul. His artistry was further shaped under the mentorship of the late Marvin Sease, a legendary blues and soul singer, who helped guide Jones in refining his sound and stage presence. This early foundation propelled him to become one of the most influential and sought-after artists in the Southern Soul scene today.

Jones burst onto the scene with his self-titled debut album in 2000, instantly making waves in the Southern Soul and blues world. His rich storytelling and sensuous delivery captured audiences, setting the stage for an illustrious career. His 2002 album, Love Machine, became a landmark release, spending an impressive 57 weeks on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, where it peaked at number 28. This album, featuring hits like “Is There Anybody Lonely?”, not only cemented his place as a major player in the genre but also introduced his sound to a broader audience. His blend of soulful melodies, slow-burning ballads, and deeply personal lyrics quickly made him a fan favorite. Jones’ ability to infuse passion and raw emotion into every song set him apart from his peers, earning him a reputation as one of the most authentic voices in modern soul music.

However, Jones’ career was nearly cut short in 2003, when he suffered a devastating motorcycle accident that left him in a coma for several days. Many feared his career—or even his life—might never be the same, but Jones defied the odds, making a remarkable recovery and returning to music with even greater passion and resilience. His 2006 album, Thank You for Holding On, was not only a return to form but also a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft and his fans. He followed this with a compilation album, My Story, in 2008, as well as a documentary-style music DVD, Sir Charles Jones: His Life & Times – Undisputed King of Southern Soul, giving fans an in-depth look at his incredible journey. His contributions to the genre have earned him numerous accolades, including the American Blues Network’s International Entertainer of the Year (2001–2004), Album of the Year (2002 & 2003), and the prestigious B.B. King Achievement Award (2003 & 2004). With a career spanning over two decades, Sir Charles Jones remains one of the most influential, respected, and beloved figures in Southern Soul, continuing to captivate audiences worldwide with his timeless music and undeniable talent.

Arthur Young

Arthur Young, affectionately known as “Mr. Funky Forty,” has quickly become a household name in the Southern Soul world, captivating audiences with his authentic storytelling and bluesy charm. Hailing from Summit, Mississippi, a small town south of Jackson, Young’s journey to musical stardom is one of grit, determination, and raw talent. Before stepping into the spotlight, Young spent years as a truck driver, a profession that deeply influenced his music, infusing his lyrics with the struggles, experiences, and everyday realities of hardworking people. His 2020 debut EP, Funky Forty, introduced the world to his signature sound—a fusion of soulful melodies, down-to-earth humor, and real-life themes that resonated deeply with fans. The title track, an anthem for men embracing their age with confidence and swagger, quickly became a fan favorite, establishing Young as a rising star in the genre.

Building on this momentum, Young has continued to prove himself as one of the most consistent and compelling voices in Southern Soul. His debut album, A Trucker’s Blues (2020), was a heartfelt homage to the working-class lifestyle, followed by A Trucker’s Blues Vol. 2: Country Boy Noise (2021), which further cemented his reputation as a storyteller for the people. His 2022 album, Drank My Liquor & Talk to Me, showcased his ability to blend soul, blues, and humor, earning him a loyal fanbase and solidifying his presence on concert and festival stages across the South. With his gritty vocals, engaging performances, and relatable lyrics, Young has positioned himself as a must-see act, proving that his music is more than just entertainment—it’s a reflection of life, love, and everything in between. As he continues to release new music and expand his reach, Arthur Young is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and authentic voices keeping the Southern Soul tradition alive and thriving.

Young Guy

The rise of Young Guy has been nothing short of explosive, with his smash single Take Heed racking up over six million YouTube views and counting—a true testament to his growing fanbase and undeniable impact on the Southern Soul scene. With his smooth yet powerful delivery, Young Guy has emerged as a force to be reckoned with, blending raw emotion, deep storytelling, and contemporary flair that resonates with both longtime Southern Soul lovers and new listeners alike. His ability to connect with audiences on a personal level has set him apart, proving that his success is no fluke but the result of pure talent, passion, and dedication. He now finds himself stepping into the tradition of great Southern Soul singers, embodying the genre’s signature depth and maturity while bringing a fresh energy to the stage.

All signs point to Young Guy’s star continuing to rise. Despite not yet releasing a debut album, his live performances and undeniable charisma have already earned him headline status at major shows, concerts, and festivals—a rare achievement for an artist still so early in his Southern Soul journey. Born in Joliet, Illinois, and raised in Mississippi, Young Guy’s musical roots are steeped in a fusion of influences, transitioning from his early career as a hip-hop artist to embracing the soulful, blues-driven essence of Southern Soul. His transition has been seamless, making what many consider a hernia-popping leap into full-fledged musical legitimacy. With a growing catalog of hits, an ever-expanding audience, and the respect of both peers and fans, Young Guy is proving to be more than just a rising star—he’s a new powerhouse in Southern Soul, poised to leave a lasting mark on the genre.
