Fred Palmer Jr., known professionally as F.P.J., is a rising star in the Southern Soul music scene. He gained widespread attention with his 2023 hit single Po’ Me Up Some Mo’, a dance floor anthem that quickly became a fan favorite. Demonstrating his versatility, F.P.J. followed up with the soulful ballad Still With Her, which resonated deeply with audiences. His authentic storytelling and ability to blend traditional Southern Soul with contemporary sounds have solidified his place among the genre’s notable new artists.
In 2024, F.P.J. continued to build on his momentum with a series of successful singles, including 2 20’s, Last Time, and Blues Paradise. His track Whatcha Know (About This) stood out, earning recognition as the Best Southern Soul Club Song (Fast-Tempo) of the year. Fat Daddy
Fat Daddy, born Allen Turner in Dallas, Texas, has quickly made a name for himself in the Southern Soul scene, carrying on the legacy of his father, R.L. Griffin, a legendary blues singer and owner of R.L. Blues Palace in South Dallas. Growing up surrounded by blues and soul, Fat Daddy developed a signature sound that blends classic influences with modern Southern Soul rhythms, resonating with fans across generations. His breakout hit, “The Blame,” shot to the top, earning the title of #1 Southern Soul single of the year, followed by the crowd-favorite “Mail Man”, a dynamic collaboration with Sir Charles Jones. Known for his soulful voice, heartfelt lyrics, and electrifying stage presence, Fat Daddy continues to push the genre forward while staying true to its roots. M.Cally, born in Monterey, California, and raised in Texas, is a dynamic Southern Soul artist known for blending soulful melodies with contemporary rhythms, drawing inspiration from Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, Charlie Wilson, and Stevie Wonder. His career has included collaborations with industry giants like Mary J. Blige, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Guy, DRS, Monica, Jaheim, and Ginuwine, showcasing his versatility. M.Cally has made waves in Southern Soul with hits like “Daisy Dukes & Cowboy Boots” (featuring Jeter Jones), “Brown Liquor,” and “They Talkin Bout Me” (released in November 2024), along with his standout music video “Southern Soul Sunday.” He has also contributed to Southern Soul Sunday: The Movie, demonstrating his dedication to expanding the genre’s cultural reach. Arena Theatre is conveniently located on Southwest Freeway between the Galleria and Sugar Land. Exit either Bellaire Blvd or Fondren Rd, and look for Boxer Property’s two Arena Place dark brown office buildings. Look for the Flags on top of the towers or the Westwood College sign as a visual indicator. Paid parking is available onsite with two covered, multilevel parking garages that connect directly to the theatre without exposure to the weather.
About The Arena Theatre
