Ginuwine, the legendary American singer, songwriter, and dancer, was born with the name Elgin Baylor Lumpkin on October 15, He adopted the stage name “Ginuwine” during his pursuit of a solo music career after departing the R&B group Swing Mob, which was formed by super-producer Timbaland.

Released in 1996, “The Bachelor” was Ginuwine’s debut studio album. It introduced his unique blend of R&B, soul, and hip-hop, and featured hit singles like “Pony” and “Tell Me Do U Wanna.” Thereafter, Ginuwine has collaborated with notable artists such as Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Aaliyah, and P. Diddy, among many others.

Ginuwine’s exceptional talent has been recognized with various awards and nominations. R&B group Next has reunited with all three original members: Robert “R.L.” Huggar, Terry “T-Low” Brown and Raphael “Tweet” Brown in support of new music.

It’s been nearly 20 years since the iconic R&B group Next first hit our ears with their debut album, “Rated Next”. At the time, it was clear that these four young men had something special and were destined to become legends in the music industry. Unfortunately, due to failed label deals, internal conflicts, and illness, they went on hiatus shortly after releasing their third album. But now they’ve reunited!

After a long period of silence from all four members – VITO, Ralph Tresvant (TRE), RL Huggar (RL) and Kayo – fans have been hoping for this day to come. Prior to his solo success, Pleasure P gained recognition as a member of the R&B group Pretty Ricky. The group rose to fame in the mid-2000s with hits like “Grind With Me” and “On The Hotline.” Upon his debut, Pleasure P joined forces with renowned rapper Lil Wayne for their chart-topping collaboration “Rock Bottom.” The song became a fan favorite, showcasing Pleasure P’s versatile vocal abilities and his ability to create catchy hooks.

’90s R&B trio 702 was discovered by Michael Bivins of New Edition. 702, named after the area code for their hometown of Las Vegas, made their recorded debut singing on Subway’s hit single “This Lil’ Game We Play.” The group released their debut album, No Doubt, in the fall of 1996, preceded by the single “Steelo.” Several other singles from the album followed in 1997, including the title track, “Get It Together,” and “All I Want.” The group returned in 1999 with a self-titled full-length as well as the single “Where My Girls At?”, cowritten and coproduced by Missy Elliott, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. 702 split up after the release of their third album, 2003’s Star.

The group took an 11-year hiatus in 2006. In 2021, the Grinstead sisters appeared in the reality series BET Presents: The Encore, which followed nine former girl-group members as they attempted to form a supergroup and create an album in 30 days.

During their career, 702 was nominated for an American Music Award, a BET Award, and multiple Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, winning best R&B/soul album of the year by a group, band or duo for No Doubt.

702 is currently on tour in memory of Irish Grinstead who recently passed away at the age of 43.

702 invites their fans to honor her legacy through the music she loved to perform and sing.

Arena Theatre is conveniently located on Southwest Freeway between the Galleria and Sugar Land. Exit either Bellaire Blvd or Fondren Rd, and look for Boxer Property’s two Arena Place dark brown office buildings. Look for the Flags on top of the towers or the Westwood College sign as a visual indicator. Paid parking is available onsite with two covered, multilevel parking garages that connect directly to the theatre without exposure to the weather.
