About the Show

Each year, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Go Tejano Committee invites five professional Mariachi groups from across Texas to compete in the Rodeo’s Mariachi Invitational.  The 2025 showcase occurs on Saturday, March 15, from 6 pm to 10:30 pm. The five groups, whose identities remain secret during the performances, compete through two rounds before advancing to the final round in NRG Stadium. The first round called The Showcase, is held at the Arena Theatre the day before the Semifinals, which are held in The Hideout at NRG Park on Go Tejano Day. Doors open at 6 pm and the competition starts at 7 pm.

Net proceeds from Go Tejano Committee events benefit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™, a 501(c) (3) charitable organization! The amount of the contribution that may be deductible for federal tax purposes is the excess value contributed by the donor over the value of goods or services. Arena Theatre is conveniently located on Southwest Freeway between the Galleria and Sugar Land. Exit either Bellaire Blvd or Fondren Rd, and look for Boxer Property’s two Arena Place dark brown office buildings. Look for the Flags on top of the towers or the Westwood College sign as a visual indicator. Paid parking is available onsite with two covered, multilevel parking garages that connect directly to the theatre without exposure to the weather.
