The 2026 event will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., bringing together five of Texas’ top professional mariachi groups for an unforgettable evening of tradition and talent.\nEach year, the Go Tejano Committee invites five elite mariachi ensembles from across the state of Texas to participate in this prestigious invitational. In keeping with tradition, the identities of the competing groups remain anonymous during their performances, allowing judges and audiences to focus solely on musicianship, performance quality, and artistry.\n\nCompetition Format\nThe invitational unfolds over multiple stages of competition. The first round, known as “The Showcase,” takes place at the Arena Theatre, where audiences can experience the mariachi groups up close in an intimate, live setting.\nFollowing The Showcase, the competition continues with the Semifinals, held the next day at The Hideout at NRG Park during Go Tejano Day. From there, the top-performing groups advance to the Final Round, which takes place inside NRG Stadium, one of the most iconic stages in Texas.\nFor the Arena Theatre Showcase on March 14, doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the competition beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m.\n\nA Celebration with a Purpose\nBeyond celebrating mariachi music and Tejano culture, the Go Tejano Mariachi Invitational serves a meaningful charitable mission.
